DIPLOMA IN PHARMACY (D.Pharm)

2 Years Full Time Program

A 2 year full Diploma course divided into 2 annual sessions. D.Pharm has been designed to prepare candidates to work as a licensed pharmacist in hospitals, community pharmacies, and other related pharmaceutical Field.

ELIGIBILITY

First Year Diploma in Pharmacy(D.Pharm)

The candidate should be an Indian national candidate. Passed Higher Secondary(10+2) or its equivalent examination in General Stream Courses with Phsics, Chemistry & Biology or Mathematics. Candidates passed Higher Secondary (10+2) examination or equivalent examinations for admission in Diploma in Pharmacy course, as per prescribed admission eligiblity criteria of Pharmacy Council of India.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm)

80% of the seats are filled through Centralized Admission Procedure (CAP) Conducted by Directorate of Technical Education, West Bengal State, Kolkata.

20% of the seats are filled as Institute Level Quota by the college according to merit & as per guidelines of the Directorate of Technical Education, West Bengal State, Kolkata.

COURSE CONTENT

Dispensing of drugs in the hospital, retail shop and to the patient is the crucial task in the health care meal? Pharmacist can tel the proper time. What are the drugs we can't take at a time? Yes, pharmacist can advise us about the drug-drug interaction. Pharmacist is the bridge between doctor and patient.

Role of pharmacist is not only limited to the dispensing of drugs. Pharmacist is the key player in the manufacturing, quality control, research & development, clinical trials, regulatory affairs, marketing of drugs & cosmetics. Recently new areas like pharmacovigilance, pharmacogemonics etc. have emerged where pharmacy Graduates are major Players.

Ragging and the Legal Provisions

  • Ragging and the legal Provisions Enactment of Central and the state laws, makes ragging a cognizable offence with identifying the perverse forms of ragging under such law(s), and giving punishments appropriate with the cruelty of the offence.
  • A student indulged in the act of ragging his/her juniors may be expelled from College/University.
  • He/She may be banned/debarred from staying in hostel/mess.
  • Scholarship/stipend/financial grant can be withdrawn/cancelled by the College/University.
  • He/She may be debarred from appearing at future examinations of University.
  • He/She may be debarred from taking admission to any other educational institute in the state or even in the entire country.
  • He/She may be charge sheeted and court of law may try the accused student. It may, after taking all precautions, give severe punishment to meet the end of justice.
