Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing is a Two-year undergraduate Course focused on developing critical care, advanced thinking skills, proficiency, and values necessary for the practice of professional nursing and midwifery.
Applicants who wish to enroll in a GNM program should complete the following:
To apply for the WBJEE JEPBN(UG) Exam(Must appearance) in that academic year, the candidate must be able to read, write, and speak in Bengali or Nepali.
Passed the Higher Secondary or Senior Secondary or Intermediate or 10+2 or an equivalent examination recognized by the university for this purpose. Those who have done 10+1 in or before 1986, will be eligible for admission.
Obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery and registered as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council. A male nurse, trained before the implementation of the new integrated course besides being registered as a nurse with the State Nurses Registration Council, shall produce evidence of training approved by the Indian Nursing Council for a similar duration in lieu of midwifery in any one of the following areas:

▶ Ophthalmic Nursing
▶ Leprosy Nursing
▶ TB Nursing
▶ Psychiatric Nursing
▶ Neurological and Neurosurgical Nursing
▶ Community Health Nursing
▶ Cancer Nursing
▶ Orthopedic Nursing
Candidates shall be medically fit.
Post Basic B.Sc Nursing Career Scope:
Upon completion of PB-B.Sc a person can find employment opportunities in various educational institutes, and private, and government hospitals.
After gaining substantial experience a person can run his/her own laboratory consultancy services, and health care centers.
There is also an option of higher studies, upon completion of PB-B.Sc a person can go for a master's degree and then further studies.
Upon completion of the course, a person also can make a career in product development, marketing, sales, quality assurance, environmental health, and insurance.
Major employment areas are Biotechnology Research Laboratories, Blood Donor Centers, Colleges & Universities, Hospitals, Military Services, etc.
